The Identity Circle Blog
What should you do with your life?
Posted By: Larry Ackerman on Dec 14, 2007 @ 04:42 AM
Last week, the New York Times ran an article, entitled What Do I Do? What Week It Is about a guy named Sean Aiken, who was trying out a new job every week for a year. The article quotes Sean as saying, “We have been told our whole life that anything is possible. Well, our parents did a great job, cause now we actually believe it.”
Bad idea! One of the worst frauds perpetrated on people is this notion that you can be whatever you want to be in life...you cannot. In my book,
The Identity Code,(www.theidentitycode.com)I explain why this is just not possible: we’re all born with a unique identity that makes us who we are and informs what we can - and cannot - do with our lives.
So, don’t be like Sean. Don’t believe the well-intentioned hype parents, teachers and society foist on us. If you want to be happy in your work, first figure out who you are, then, you’ll make decisions that finally make sense.
